            Air India Sticker - London-Sydney MG B 

The full story of UMB 534 F the London-Sydney Marathon, MG B of Jean Denton and Tom Boyce is told on the two adjacent shots of the car.

After around 40 years of hibernation the car was offered to the MG car club by a rubbish removal contractor clearing an old property in a very neglected state for £ 1,000. This offer would normally have been dismissed out of hand, but photographs made the club suspect there was something a bit special about this now Purple MG. Further investigation proved it to be the London-Sydney rally car, and efforts were made to purchase it and perform a restoration back to competition spec. 

None of the period photos showed the fine detail of the stickers, and it fell to the  Indian marketing manager to come up with suggestions. Within 24 hours she came back with the artwork for every Air India logo of the 60s and 70s
