The Electron was launched in 1956, as a larger and more sporting model than the earlier Atom and Atomota models. Powered by a 1098cc Coventry Climax engine with independant front sispension and drim brakes all round. The engine was expensive for the company to buy resulting in a high price of £1050 (complete) or £734 (kit) and only around 20-30 are thought to have been made
The reduced price Electron Minor followed in 1957 at first using a Standard ten engine and transmission. In 1963 the engine was changed to the one from the Triumph Spitfire and sporting Spitfire front disc brakes A hardtop was available as an option. With various specification changes the cars went from a Mark I to a Mark VI which had a Triumph GT6 chassis. The Electron Minor proved the mainstay of the total production accounting for around 500 of the total prodtion of approximately 700 Fairthorpe cars.
Cars were available either fully built or in kit form.
