Bescar Lane, White House Farm, Northern 769448 (15.17 Southport - Alderley Edge) December 21st 2021.

            Northern Bi-mode Flex 769448 has just passed through Bescar Lane station in the distance and passes remote White House Farm with the 15.17 Southport - Alderley Edge service. 
The line is dead straight for 12 miles across the fertile Lancashire Plain from Parbold to the outskirts of Southport. 
In steam days it was a racing section for non-stop trains with speeds of 80-90 mph, all manual crossings and controlled by semaphore signalling.

* The 769 will change to 25kV electric from Bolton a much more slick operation than in the reverse direction when one of their two engines have been known to fail to start.
