Great blue heron among pilings - a photo on Flickriver

                      There's a ruined pier in the northeast corner of Bodega Bay, plus this set of stout wooden pillars sitting in the water, open to the sky now that whatever they once supported is gone. This great blue heron was stalking through their bases on a foggy somber day, looking too elegant for words.
