North Norfolk Railway 40s Weekend 18th Sept 2010

            North Norfolk Railway or Poppy Line is a heritage railway which runs classic steam and Diesel trains between Holt and Sheringham with a station at Weybourne situated approximately half distance. On 18th and 19th September they held a very popular 40’s weekend. I managed to pay a visit on the Saturday. There were lots to see at each station and a selection of fine steam engines plied the tracks throughout the day. Military vehicles and sets were in abundance at each station. Classic buses operated a service between the stations if you got sick of train travel. Re-enactors were in abundance as well as visitors who just dressed the part for the day. At 13:30 on the Saturday the Lancaster of the BBMF carried out a Fly-past.  All in all a fantastic day and the organisers should be proud.
