Still Life - Get Pushed!! Round 15 - Explored!

This is my response to a challenge made by Logista aka Barbara for Round 15 of Get Pushed!!. She has a great eye for composition, so go and have a look at her stream!
She wrote:

I had a look through your stream and noticed your photos are as eclectic as mine. You have a good eye for creating compelling images from things you see around you, but I noticed you don't often create a subject to photograph.
So here's my challenge to you: create a still life image. And because I love books, you should include a book! Any other details are up to you.

She is right - I don't have any still life images in my stream, mainly because I always have the traditional style in my head: dead rabbit or duck, flower in a vase, fruit and vegies or a skull...and this is not really me. So I did some research and found some artists who create/created very different ones, e.g. Bart Koning or Raphaelle Peale.
And then I just went to work - I had tons of fun and I hope your are happy with my response Barbara!?
I know they might take a bit to get used to, but I like them. ;-) So enjoy.
