Come to Britain : Area Booklet No. 2 : The South East : illustrated by S. R. Badmin : c.1954

            The British Travel & Holidays Association was Britian's 'official' tourist association coordinating and producing a wide range of publicity and advertising material to entice people to take holidays within Britain or visit from abroad. They had their origins in a trade association in 1929 but by 1950 they had been reorganised and were Government backed.

In post-WW2 years the Association issued a series of similar leaflets and booklet under the title "Come to Britain"; at first these were understandably, due to post-war austerity, slender and in black and white photogravure. From 1950 onwards as thinsg improved the 'quality' of their publications also improved. Although not dated this series appears to be c.1954 and the seven booklets appear to each have a cover illustrated by that doyen of British illustrators S R Badmin.

This, Area Booklet No.2, for South East England covers the counties of Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.
