Autumn Drive - a photo on Flickriver

Autumn Drive

            Looking across Abraham Lake towards the 2,545 m high Mount Michener, which is situated on the eastern border of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada. In the far background is Kista Peak.

The mountain was named in 1982 after Daniel Roland Michener who was the Governor General of Canada from 1967 - 1974.

Abraham Lake is a man made lake created when the Bighorn Dam was built in 1972 on the North Saskatchewan River.  The lake has its' beautiful blue colour due to the glacial lakes it originates from.
