INTO THE LIGHT II – Flying Threesome's Joint Venture

            ► █░▓    WILD GEESE FLY in small flocks at the end of day. We re-live the sunset of the first spring day in Holland here. Kanaal van Steenenhoek, a known spot, was a good place to put the recently acquired E-M1 to a test. This time with an Olympus lens, to see how the match worked. This is taken exactly 15 minutes before the astronomical sunset that happened at 271° obscured by the clouds.

The combo did fine, but not the developer! I was struck-and-stuck by the first edit. Developed from RAW and edited in Affinity Photo. The first try was no success. Weird colors and not sharp. This second one is better. But I am still not satisfied with the sharpness. It is frustrating to ever have to sharpen the end result additionally in IrfanView. The closing action should be noise reduction, not sharpening.

This shot is done 1-2 seconds after the previous one. The geese have meanwhile flown passed the sun. The way they fly – close to each other – is marvelous, awe-inspiring. Sun spot is blown out. MFT can't grasp the dynamics in one shot but the rest is exposed fine. And the HDR seems to work nice but that's a case for another time. I can't wait to compare a Panasonic body with this camera.
