Ships Passing By In The Night - a photo on Flickriver

            BLEEDING LIGHTS OF Werkendam as seen from Boven Hardinxveld. 

Werkendamse scheepswerf aan de overkant (links). Dichterbij rechts staat het vuurtorentje boven de verlichte borden op de spitstong waar Biesbosch eigenlijk begint. Dit is een magische plek waar Merwede door Merwelanden wordt gesplitst naar Beneden Merwede en Nieuwe Merwede.

In de hele serie met lange sluitertijd die ik vanaf statief heb genomen is deze laatste opname om één mij onbekende reden vervaagd. Waarschijnlijk niet toevallig ook de mooiste... (de andere zijn wel scherp). De blauwe horizontale lijntjes zijn het licht van de voorbij varende schepen.

► █░▓      TAKEN AT 21:19, this last in a series of long exposures from the tripod got blurred for no obvious reason. Captured well over an hour into the night after the sunset, it represents the last phase of the dusk known as 'Astronomical Twilight'.
