Passeggiando per Barga - Walking in Barga

            Barga è un borgo medioevale collinare in provincia di Lucca. 
Situato a 410 metri sul livello del mare, sul Colle Remeggio,nel cuore della Garfagnana, è stato riconosciuto "Uno dei Borghi più belli d'Italia" e "Bandiera Arancione Touring Club", il marchio creato appunto dal Touring Club Italiano per valorizzare le località dell'entroterra italiano (massimo 15.000 abitanti) che si distinguono per un'offerta di eccellenza e un'accoglienza di qualità.
Il borgo è dominato dal Duomo (XI sec.), che sorge nel punto più alto del colle sui cui giace la città.
Nella frazione Castelvecchio Pascoli, si trova la casa in cui abitò il poeta Giovanni Pascoli negli ultimi anni della sua vita, dal 1895 al 1912. 
L'edificio conserva la struttura, gli arredi, la disposizione degli spazi che aveva al momento della morte del poeta. Vi sono conservati i suoi libri e i suoi manoscritti. 
Annessa alla villa sorge la cappella dove Pascoli è sepolto.

Barga is a nice medioeval village located on an hill in the province of Lucca (Northern Italy).
It is dominated by the Cathedral (XI cent.), which is located on the top of the hill. 
In the near hamlet Castelvecchio Pascoli there is the house in which the famous Italian poet Giovanni Pascoli lived from 1895 till his death in 1912; inside the house it is possible still today to see the original furnishing, the Pascoli books and manuscripts.
