Buho Real

            Es la rapaz nocturna europea más grande. Presenta unos mechones de plumas oscuras muy sobresalientes en la cabeza simulando una par de orejas.

Las hembras son más grandes que los machos.

HABITAT:
Prácticamente utilizan todos los tipos de terrenos, aunque prefieren las zonas con cortados rocosos de muy diversos tamaños cercanos a cultivos. Se encuentran tanto en las zonas boscosas como de matorral.

Suelen nidificar en cuevas, repisas cubiertas, oquedades, etc.. de cortados rocosas e incluso en grandes árboles como (alcornoques, olivos y algarrobos). No construye ningún tipo de nido, algunas parejas se limitan a realizar una pequeña excavación en el suelo para evitar que los huevos resbalen y caigan al vacío.
