Amish quilts of Stephen and Faith Brown on exhibit in San Francisco's deYoung Museum November 2009 # 20091120-202502

            I made this photo oat the entrance of an exhibit in the deYoung Museum in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park back in November 2002. Melody is a quilter but I am not sure if she saw this exhibit. It was two years before she and I met. The exhibit was titled Amish abstractions: Quilting from the collection of Faith and Stephen Brown. The couple has since donated an extraordinary collection of these quilts to the Smithsonian Museum and are scheduled for exhibit in 2024. I shot this image using a Canon Powershot SX20, which was my carry around camera those many years ago. I graduated from SX20, to SX30, to SX50 that I have been using for the better part of a decade as of 2022.
