            This image of a white dahlia flower through a fence was captured at the Dahlia Garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate park just before 9 AM on the first Wednesday of our 2014 Western States trip. After an early morning appointment, Melody and I decided to visit the Dahlia Garden and see if and dahlias were in bloom yet. We had seen dahlias at the Potrero Hill Community Garden earlier in the month but that is a much sunnier location than Golden Gate Park which is nearer the Pacific Ocean. This and the other dahlias were a nice surprise on this overcast morning. Taken with my Canon Powershot SX50 that I carry with me in my photo vest uniform whenever I am out and about.
