June 2018 - Life in the slow lane - reminiscing

Hooshing the camels, with up to 250kg load, for our lunch break. 
Chewing camels are happy camels! :)

Being out in the Simpson with a bunch of camels and a few other 'non-camels' who don't mind putting up with sleeping in swags under the stars, without creature comforts, no 'news', no mobile phone, no social media crap, is the 'ultimate freedom'.

I hoped to join another expedition in September 2021. Sadly, due to lock-downs and closure of state borders, this is not possible. 

COVID-19 update 25 August 2021:
Western Australia and Queensland have declared New South Wales 'High COVID Risk' and WA has closed state borders to anybody from New South Wales under just about all cirucmstances. 

COVID and restrictions imposed by different states, is dividing Australia in a nasty way, keeping families separated for a long time.
