Norwich City - a photo on Flickriver

Norwich City

            The former M&GN station was badly damaged by the blitz in April 1942, hence it's rather spartan appearance here some ten years later, on 7 June 1952.

LNER D16/3 class 4.4.0 62519 waits on a train, perhaps to Cromer. The Melton Constable-based locomotive was five years away from withdrawal, the station lasting until the closure of much of the M&GN in March 1959 (although retained for freight for another ten years).
