The Three Amigos

            Blue Jays can be noisy, bold and fast.  They are also very colorful all at the same time.  This trio showed up early to snatch up all the peanuts they could find that were broadcast in our yard. 

Their cries of alarm scared off most of the birds who were not aware of their "crying wolf" tactics.  Their cries also alerted me to their arrival, so all I had to do was sit and wait for them to show up.  And they did.  

Was quick enough to grab this shot of all three together.  Not until editing this did I notice the one on the right has several peanuts in his bill.

Due to the bitter cold weather in our area predicted for the next few days, I've been broadcasting an extra scoop of nuts in the yard.
