Upon the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1992, the Aeroflot Leningrad Civil Aviation Directorate became Pulkovo Aviation Enterprise (officially: Federal State Unified Aviation Service Company “Pulkovo”). Most of the Soviet equipment of that time was transferred to the new entity, but also already ordered aircraft were directly delivered to Pulkovo.

Included was this Tupolev Tu.154M, built in 1994 and delivered in 1995. Registered as RA-85800, it was seen arriving on runway 14 on a scheduled Pulkovo service from St. Petersburg. While initially all the aircraft still carried Aeroflot colours, Pulkovo was in 1997 ordered to drop the Aeroflot livery to avoid brand confusion, leading to an own identity as shown on RA-85800.

By presidential decree in 2004, Pulkovo was merged with the smaller Rossiya State Transport Company, evolving into Rossiya Airlines, which now operates scheduled services and all government flights. RA-85800 was transferred to the Rossiya fleet, but was retired at St. Petersburg in late 2009, and eventually broken-up there in December 2010.
