Here's something I have'nt heard any discussion about: CN over the last 5 years has made huge investments here on South Range Hill on their Superior Sub climbing out of the Lake Superior Basin. They created at least 6 miles of 2nd main track, even building a brand new 2nd bridge( seen on the right) over the Amnicon River here at Mile 446. I think the goal was to relieve the bottleneck created by eastbounds like this one. They have dropped below 15mph for the last several miles, I could hear them for almost 40 minutes before they got here! Lead unit 2883 is followed by ex-CITX unit 3968 and 2 dead-in-tow SD75I 's. They could really have used those '75's as they are lugging 161 cars, mostly lumber and potash loads straight from Canada. ES-44 2986 is DPU'ing 99 cars back.
