Architectural Geology of Pisa, Italy - Part 8: Another View of the Baptistery (AD 1363)

This time I'm facing west-southwest, standing between the Camposanto cemetery structure and the Cathedral (a slight portion of which is at right).

This alternative view of the Baptistery shows not only its slight tilt due to its uneven settlement in the Arno floodplain sediments, but also part of the red terra-cotta tile of its western side. But most of the roofing material visible from this angle are lead plates.

As I noted in my previous photo description, the main white marble used on the exterior below the roof is the Monte Pisano Marble from the Casa Roncucci quarry. I'm guessing that the darker stringcourse stone is the same Jurassic Val di Lima Limestone used for that purpose on the Cathdral. But I've had no confirmation of that yet.
