Paul Cauchie (Auguste Paul Cauchie), architecte, peintre et décorateur belge, né le 7 janvier 1875, à Ath (province de Hainaut) et décédé le 1er décembre 1952, à Etterbeek (Bruxelles)
Il fut une des figures marquantes de l’Art nouveau en Belgique. Son style architectural, contrairement à ceux de Victor Horta ou Paul Hankar, qui utilisaient le fer forgé et la pierre pour suggérer des volutes végétales, se caractérise par une rigueur géométrique compensée par la richesse des décorations picturales.

Paul Cauchie (Auguste Paul Cauchie), Belgian architect, painter and decorator, born January 7, 1875, in Ath (province of Hainaut) and died December 1, 1952, in Etterbeek (Brussels)
He was one of the leading figures of Art Nouveau in Belgium. His architectural style, unlike those of Victor Horta or Paul Hankar, who used wrought iron and stone to suggest vegetal scrolls, is characterized by a geometric rigor offset by the richness of the pictorial decorations.
