Calm Before The Storm - a photo on Flickriver

We are all broken angels
Running before the storm
But remember what I told you
Find my never-ending love
And you will always be reborn

The pain we cause each other
Washes away in the rain
But I know and I understand
That some stains will always remain
Seeking the stronger claim

None of us is perfect
None of us is true
And nobody is better than another
So we can only try our best
We can only try to pull through

Life is hard and challenging enough
Are you not tired of being angry
Place these burdens down
Leave them on the ground
But not where you will permanently lay

The uploading of this image and poem on Flickr, is for me a healing of sorts. After this image, I did not venture out with my camera for a long time, as I then entered a very difficult period of my life. This image has always reminded me of that and for a quite a while I have not even been able to look at it.
Some years on, I tentatively went back out with my camera, and what I found brought my spirit alive again. So this image is a like a touchstone to me, showing me how far I have come.
