CAIMF045-YE.1021-1909, 'Rothervale No.7', at Orgreave Colliery, near Treeton-05-09-1960

            Built by the Yorkshire Engine Company Ltd, Meadowhall, Sheffield, to Works No.1021, in 1909, and named “'Rothervale No.7”. This locomotive was subsequently transferred to Manton Colliery, in 1961. 

It is seen here at Orgreave Colliery, where it is reported to have been on-loan from Treeton Colliery, between March 1960 and March 1961. The locomotive is seen crossing the shared rail bridge, which carried the Treeton Branch, from Orgreaves Colliery Junction, over the River Rother and it seems to be heading in the direction of the exchange sidings adjoining Treeton Station, although it could just as easily be heading back towards Treeton Colliery. The adjoining running line, which shared the bridge was the United Coke and Chemicals Company Limited own connection with the exchange sidings adjoining Treeton Station.
