Gateway from the past - a photo on Flickriver

            The entryway into the National University of Ireland Galway's Quadrangle building. 

The Quad, as it is affectionately known by staff and students, was built in the mid 1840s - during one of the great famine periods. It is an imposing stone structure which takes on an entirely different character after hours when students and staff are sparse.

No matter how many times I try, I always get wide angle shots like this a bit 'off' when trying to line up everything in the viewfinder.
