A few weeks ago I finally had the time and forecast to make the drive to Glastonbury potentially worthwhile. It's been on my 'shopping list' for some time and this day there was a forecast for mist. As it turned out there was some mist about but not as much as I'd hoped as would love to get this with St Michael's Tower as an island surrounded by mist/fog......maybe one day. I hadn't pre-scouted and just done a little research but not on shots so it would be 'fresh' for me. This one I liked the water as a leading line.

I also quite liked the 'ant like' effect of the people energetic enough to walk up to the tower😄

Glastonbury Tor seems to have been called Ynys yr Afalon (meaning "The Isle of Avalon") by the Britons and is believed by some, including the 12th and 13th century writer Gerald of Wales, to be the Avalon of Arthurian legend. St Michaels Tower.

The earliest timber church here dates back to the 11th or 12th Century. The church was destroyed in 1275 by an Earthquake! A second church, made from Sandstone, was built in the 14th century and lasted until 1539 when during the Dissolution of the Monasteries it was pulled down except for the tower.
