Third re-routing in two years so let’s see how long this lasts. Newer version of HCT’s favourite hybrid on duty. | CT Plus London ADL Enviro 400H City working the 388 to Stratford City

            While the 26 has remained untouched for a long time, the 388 has had three big changes in two years. First it was extended to Elephant & Castle, then butchered to Liverpool Street, then extended again in October but this time to London Bridge.

The latter was meant to provide a partial replacement to the 48 but you can only change onto the 55 at Cambridge Heath and most of the journey time is gone at that point. Loads look OK since the change but not exactly great since you can get the 149 to Shoreditch and hop on the 55 far quicker than the 388.

It still works as a crowd buster for the 8 but I wonder how long it’ll survive in this form, especially since it got a frequency reduction along with the extension.

This unit was originally delivered to Walthamstow Avenue (AW) but quickly moved to Ash Grove (HK) and is normally working this and the much more popular 26.
