Stieglitz / European Goldfinch / in explore 20240224

            Ausgerechnet mit den hübschen Diestelfinken habe ich Glück in meinem Garten. Seit ich angefangen habe sie zu fotografieren, sind sie Dauergäste. Anfangs waren sie nur Frühling, Sommer und Herbst da. Deshalb dachte ich, dass sie im Winter auch in den Süden migrieren. Das stimmt aber nicht, sie verschwinden aus mir unbekannten Gründen nur aus den Gärten. Erst 22/23 bemerkte ich, dass mindestens ein paar doch ganzjährig hier sind. Sie tauchten aber nur vereinzelt an wenigen Tagen bei mir auf. Seit Januar dieses Jahr ist es wieder anders, heuer habe ich erstmals Schwärme von 30+ Finken gleichzeitig bei mir. Warum das so ist, habe ich noch nicht herausgefunden. Ich freue mich aber immer dass ich wegen ihrer Besuche nahezu stressfrei Bilder von ihnen machen kann. 

I'm really lucky with the beautiful Goldfinches in my garden. Since I started photographing them, they have been permanent guests. At first they were only there in spring, summer and autumn. That's why I thought that they also migrate south in winter. But that's not true, they just disappear from the gardens for reasons unknown to me. At some point in winter 22/23 I noticed that at least a few are here all year round. But they only showed up sporadically on a few days. Things have changed again since January 24. This year I have swarms of 30+ Goldfinches in my garden for the first time. I haven't figured out why that is yet. But I'm always happy that I can take pictures of them almost stress-free because of their visits.
