Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year to all on Flickr! 2020.

            This is to wish my friends, contacts and all on Flickr a very Happy Christmas and a much better 2021 that I hope will be safe and healthy! 

Last year, I started a small personal tradition of using an Ukiyo-o print, a Japanese woodblock print, from my collection for my Christmas greeting to everyone. This year I have chosen a Utagawa Hiroshige print taken from his series “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo”. It  is number 99 in the series that eventually stretched to 119 prints! He obviously couldn’t count! LOL. 

It is called ‘Kinruyan Temple, Asukusa’ and was done in 1856 and is thought to commemorate the restoration of the temple after the devastating earthquake a year before in 1855.
