A very old and heavily modified KC-135 with a very interesting history at Riem (the starboard side would have looked even more interesting). The new charter terminal built in the late 1980s can be seen in the background on the left.

Information from joebaugher.com (slightly adapted):
3135 (MSN 17251), built as a KC-135A-BN Stratotanker, converted to JKC-135A, fitted with 50 small windows for nuclear readiness testing. In the 70's it was used in astrographic camera system trials, then converted to NKC-135A as instrumented tanker to provide data on new aircraft or systems (worked on the SR-71 LARSE program as the only KC-135 E-series to ever refuel a Blackbird), and then to NKC-135E. Re-engined in 1982. Retired Sept 2004, allegedly the second oldest aircraft then serving with USAF (49 years of use). To AMARC Sep 28, 2004 as CA0144. Still on AMARC inventory Jan 15, 2008.
