US Air Force 73-1676 (Boeing E-4B) | FRA/EDDF

            Lange habe ich kein Flugzeugbild mehr hochgeladen, vor allem weil ich die in der Regel auf anderen Plattformen teile. Aber dieses ist es mir dann doch mal wieder wert, auch hier zu erscheinen. Am Dienstag besuchte uns im tiefen Abendlicht weniger als eine Stunde vor Sonnenuntergang die, mit Baujahr 1973, älteste auf der Welt noch aktive Boeing 747. Es handelt sich dabei um eine der vier Flugzeuge vom Typ E4B Nightwatch, die von der Boeing 747-200 abstammen. Es handelt sich dabei um eine EMP-sichere, mit allen erdenklichen Kommunikationstechniken ausgestattete fliegende Kommandozentrale für den Fall einer weitgehenden Zerstörung der Infrastruktur am Boden durch eine Naturkatastrophe oder Kriegseinwirkung, daher auch der Spitzname "Doomsday Plane".
