*Wiki* Die Nachtkerzen (Oenothera) sind eine Pflanzengattung innerhalb der Familie der Nachtkerzengewächse (Onagraceae). Die 120 bis 200 Arten sind ursprünglich in gemäßigten bis tropischen Gebieten in der Neuen Welt verbreitet. Bereits im 17. Jahrhundert wurden einige Arten als Zierpflanzen nach Europa eingeführt. Sie verwilderten und sind seitdem als Neophyten oder neu entstandene Arten und Formen Bestandteil der mitteleuropäischen Flora.[1] Diese entstehen überwiegend durch eine gattungsspezifische Hybridisierung spezieller Ringchromosomen.[2]
