Through the Rainy Woods - a photo on Flickriver

            Thanks to a heads up the night before, I received word that the Georgia Northeastern was going to be bringing the Blue Ridge Scenic power to Tate for their annual visit to the shop on January 21st. This was noteworthy as this trip & the return trip are the only times of the year where the stretch of the former L&N "Hook & Eye" line between Blue Ridge & Whitestone will see any train movement since their are no customers on that portion of it. Having never documented a movement on it, I made sure to dedicate my day to documenting it. I normally wouldn't get excited for an engine lite movement, but the rarity of movement on the line made it a must. Here, we see the power taking it easy through the woods south of Blue Ridge at a brisk 5mph on the FRA-excepted track of the GNRR's "Ellijay Block." 1-21-21
