Eastbound At Eagle Bridge - a photo on Flickriver

            Berkshire and Eastern Railroad train MOED  rumbles over the battered Eagle Bridge Road crossing on Main 1 through CPF448 on the Freight Main (beside the old Boston and Maine passenger station out of sight to the right). Berkshire and Eastern is a Genesee and Wyoming owned company which was newly created to act as a neutral third party operator of the jointly owned Pan Am Southern property as a result of the sale of Pan Am Railways to CSX.  MOED (Mohawk to East Deerfield) is the continuation to Ayer of Norfolk Southern manifest train 16R from East Binghamton to Mechanicville.  The train is led by the standard EMD rebuilt SD60E trailed by two GEs including NS 3960 (GE C44-9W blt. Dec. 1998 as BNSF 4967 then sold to become KCS 4461 and one of 44 purchased from CPKC in Dec. 2023 as fodder for NS' Juniata Shops AC44C6M rebuild program).
