Montserrat

            Our Lady of Montserrat Abbey is a male Benedictine monastery in the Montserrat mountain range in Catalonia. A place known for the cult of the figure of the Virgin Mary with a dark face, the so-called "Czarnulki" (es La Moreneta). The monastery is situated on rock formations from the top of which you can see the whole of Catalonia. It is the second most important, after Santiago de Compostela, pilgrimage center in Spain, as well as the center of patriotism and Catalan nationalism.
According to legend; "Around 50 CE, St. Peter came to Montserrat and left a wooden statue of the Mother of God with the Child, carved by St. Luke in the cave-hermitage. The grotto and the mountain were previously prepared for the resting place by angels using a golden saw. It was as a result of their activities. the mountain was supposed to get its present shape. During the Muslim Moors' invasion of the Iberian Peninsula at the beginning of the 8th century, the statue was lost, but in 880 it was miraculously found in the Holy Grotto (Santa Cova), and its discovery was accompanied by many miracles, visions and heavenly music. the discovery, a chapel was built ".

Opactwo Matki Bożej w Montserrat to męski klasztor benedyktyński, w masywie górskim Montserrat w Katalonii. Miejsce znane z kultu figury Matki Boskiej o ciemnej twarzy, tzw. „Czarnulki” (es La Moreneta). Klasztor usytuowany jest na formacjach skalnych, ze szczytu których widać całą Katalonię. Jest to drugi pod wzgldem ważności, zaraz po Santiago de Compostela ośrodek pielgrzymkowy w Hiszpanii a takzę ośrodek patriotyzmu i nacjonalizmu katalońskiego. 
Według legendy; "około 50 roku n.e. przybył do Montserrat św. Piotr i w grocie-pustelni pozostawił drewnianą figurę Matki Bożej z Dzieciątkiem, wyrzeźbioną przez św. Łukasza. Grota i góra zostały wcześniej przygotowane na miejsce spoczynku figury przez anioły używające złotej piły. To w wyniku ich działalności góra miała uzyskać obecny kształt. Podczas najazdu muzułmańskich Maurów na Półwysep Iberyjski na początku VIII w. figura zaginęła, ale w 880 została cudownie odnaleziona w Świętej Grocie (Santa Cova), a jej odnalezieniu towarzyszyło wiele cudów, wizje i niebiańska muzyka. W miejscu jej odnalezienia zbudowano kaplicę".
