Why this graffiti was sprayed on this wall here, I do not know, I did not know it before ... That's what I found out about Kollywood: The Bollywood cinema is created in the Hindi film industry in Kerala. A big competition in terms of content and economy is the South Indian Tamil film industry, also known as Kollywood. The name is derived from the place name Kodambakkam in Madras and at the same time a variation of the better known Bollywood, which in turn was formed as a custody word from Bombay and Hollywood. Indeed, "Bollywood" produces more movies every year than Hollywood – and Kollywood is not up to it.

Das Bollywood-Kino entsteht in der Hindi-Filmindustrie in Kerala. Eine große inhaltliche wie ökonomische Konkurrenz ist die südindische Tamil-Filmindustrie, auch bekannt als Kollywood. Der Name ist aus dem Ortsnamen Kodambakkam bei Madras abgeleitet und zugleich eine Variation des bekannteren Bollywood, das seinerseits als Kofferwort aus Bombay und Hollywood gebildet wurde. Tatsächlich produziert „Bollywood" mehr Filme im Jahr als Hollywood – und Kollywood steht dem wohl nicht nach.
