Yes indeed - a SAN JOSE building in Arts & Architecture! Associated copy reads: "Richmond-Chase is one of the largest canning companies in the area; it was desired that the headquarters office building should be in keeping with the company's position in progressive leadership." 

A 1949-1950 San Jose city directory places this building at 817 The Alameda (current location for the Arena Hotel). Let's just say that the Arena Hotel would not have made it into Arts & Architecture.
