Le Grand Vallon - a photo on Flickriver

Le Grand Vallon

            Petite voisine de la Durance, la vallée du Grand Vallon se faufile au nord des Alpes de Haute Provence et à la limite des Hautes Alpes. Elle se situe dans le Pays du Sisteronnais et dans les Hautes Terres de Provence.
A mi-chemin entre Gap et Sisteron, à l'écart des grands axes routiers, c'est une région à la fois alpine et provençale.

Une région essentiellement agricole :
- Arboriculture dans les zones irriguées produisant des fruits réputés (pommes, poires, pêches), comme on le voit sur la photo.
- Polyculture : céréales, fourrages, élevage d'ovins en montagne.
