“Childe”. Mono edt. - a photo on Flickriver

            I am truly torn between this and the original colour version. Done to add a bit of “drama, grit and contrast” 

This fine bronze statue, of John Middleton was unveiled in 2013. Situated in his home village of Hale, close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
 
Known as the Childe of Hale, 1578-1623 he was reputedly 9ft 3ins (2.8 metres) and now lies in the churchyard yards away.
 
Now, ten years on from erection he sports cobwebs under his chin but still looks rather majestic. I suppose you could say a larger than life character.
