60007 Parsons Tunnel 24th June 2023

            The third railtour of the day, this time A4 Pacific 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' emerges from Parsons Tunnel between Dawlish and Teignmouth with Saphos Trains' 'English Riviera Express' 1Z27 05.50 Shrewsbury - Kingswear.  I'm pretty pleased with how this photo came out but I was mightily lucky. Just as 60007 emerged from the tunnel a Penzance  - Paddington IET went in the opposite direction and I thought my clear shot was done for. Amazingly it was only a 5-car rather than the usual 9 or 10 car. I was using continuous 'burst mode' which the Nikon D3500 can do 5 per second. The previous frame where 60007 is about three sleepers back has the full yellow nose of the IET alongside the A4. Fine margins indeed !
