            24 of about 3000 Long-tailed Ducks that left the water under the lift bridge to Hamilton Harbour after the horn sounded to raise the bridge.  The ducks had done very little flying for about an hour or more until an extremely large ocean freighter arrived.  All of the ducks took to the air en masse as the freighter navigated through the narrow channel.  A half hour later, they were all back in the water as if nothing had happened. (624)
