3041 : Windsor & Eton Central - a photo on Flickriver

            A full scale replica of GWR Achilles Class 4-2-2 locomotive No. 3041 "The Queen" stands on display at Windsor & Eton Central station.

The locomotive was built in 1894 and was originally named "Emlyn" after Lord Emlyn, Chairman of the Great Western Railway Company. 

The locomotive was repainted in 1897 and renamed "The Queen" especially to pull the new Royal Train.

Later, the locomotive was renamed again as "James Mason" and was withdrawn from service in 1912. 

No examples of these locomotives exist today.
