Queen of the Night

            Epiphyllum oxypetalum does its splendid night spectacular for the last time this season. The striking white petals, prominent reproductive structures and potent fragrance attract pollinators in the pitch black rain forests of Latin America. This exemplar is growing in a pot in my sub-tropical home garden on the Queensland Gold Coast hinterland.
