6 coach Class 385 after arrival at North Berwick.

Class 385010 is seen at the head of a six car formation after arrival at North Berwick on the 0943 hrs ex Edinburgh Waverley. The station was de-staffed in May 1985 a few months after all the station buildings were demolished and the one remaining platform shortened by fifty yards by moving the buffer stops. The other platform at the terminus (which would have been on the left of the picture) was taken out of use and the rails lifted in 1968. Today’s platform had to be extended last year to meet the demand for longer trains. Note the old style clock on the right beneath the tannoy.
