Autumn EMDs - a photo on Flickriver

Autumn EMDs

            On a cool and breezy late September morning, a pair of SD60Ms and a GP39 thunder out of Big Lake with a 9000-foot mixed freight headed to Northtown.

As of now, the 1448 & 1428 are the only SD60Ms in active service assigned to Northtown, with other favorites having left to other terminals or sitting in storage.

I've been lucky to shoot 1428 a few times, but this is my first crack at the 1448.

Fall colors are just starting to pop around here, according to the MN DNR, we're behind this year compared to 2020 & 2021. A recent frost might accelerate the change.

It's been a couple of years since I shot a train at this location, and the weeds have gotten terrible.
