Yashica ヤシカ J-3 in Pro-Black... 1963

Hey, it's Yashica Day!!!
Wait a minute... it's Yashica Day every day!

Rather rare J-3 in Pro-Black. Not much exists out there on exactly when Yashica decided to produce these limited beauties. To this day after years of looking at Japanese sales brochures nothing has ever been mentioned about the mysterious 'Black J-3'.

We hope to someday run across something in print. We do know that they share a limited range of serial numbers and the standard f/ 2.0 Auto Yashinon 5cm lens was also in black to match. They too share a limited range of serial numbers.

The lighting was just right this afternoon so I placed it on my work surface and used the Samsung Galaxy S4 to capture this portrait.
