North American F-82B Twin Mustang Betty Jo RF 3-4 Cold War Gallery USAF Museum (9279) Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 3-10-2019.

            Of a total of 273 F-82s produced, 20 were F-82Bs. The F-82B on display, Betty-Jo, flew from Hawaii to New York on Feb. 27-28, 1947, a distance of 5,051 miles, the longest non-stop flight ever made by a propeller-driven fighter. Betty-Jo came to the museum in 1957.

I was flying G-IV Capt. for the Worlds Largest Private Investment Company back in 1999 based in KTEB Teterboro, NJ.  We were doing a return from Singapore with a fuel stop in Saipan and a overnight in Honolulu, HI.  Non-stop Honolulu, HI to Teterboro, NJ (own home base) 9:15 is my personal longest distance and time.  Unlike the Betty Jo I was dining on Steak / Mashed Potatoes / Asparagus in a Vinaigrette.
