            After completing the day's run from Poplar Bluff Missouri to St. Louis the UP 4014 Big Boy shoves its train up the TRRA Highline and under the Iconic St. Louis Arch for a quick photo op before heading toward the Amtrak Station to tie down for the night in preparation for display the following day. The World's Largest Steam Locomotive and the World's Largest Arch meet in a move that was kept under wraps until it happened. 

The UP 4014 Big Boy was built in 1941 and has a 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement, weighs 1.2 million pounds and is a 132 feet in length. That makes the Big Boy locomotive just about 4.75 times smaller than 630 foot tall Gateway Arch in the background. The UP 4014 Big Boy and the St. Louis Gateway Arch are both iconic in their own rights and are historical representations of expansion, and progress. Their histories, and what they represent are woven into the fabric of the United States.
