Coconut trees in Sri Lanka - a photo on Flickriver

            Sri Lanka- Colombo: I remember eating at a hotel in Colombo and then walking down to the beach and as we were walking I looked up and noticed the full moon behind the palms and the flood lights along the path were lighting up the palms perfectly. I stoped and put the camera on the knee high rock wall along the path on its back facing up on a timed exposure with no flash and caught what is probably the favorite picture in my collection. This picture reminds me of two things; the endless hours i've spent looking up through palms on beaches around the world and second, since the picture was taken before the tsunami, the calm unsuspecting pristine perfection of Sri Lanka as a whole before the disaster.
