            Amsterdam Centraal station is the largest railway station in Amsterdam, North Holland, the Netherlands. A major international railway hub, it is used by 192,000 passengers a day. 
Amsterdam Centraal was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers and opened in 1889. It features a Gothic, Renaissance Revival station building and a cast iron platform roof spanning approximately 40 metres. (Wikipedia)

The Stationsplein is the square in front of the Central Station in Amsterdam and was named in 1889, when the station opened. The square has a triangular shape and is enclosed by the station building on one side and the water of the Open Havenfront on the other.
