Goed, de foto in Schenkenzell zat in het digitale kistje (gelukkig net voordat een laatste regenbuitje even kwam piepen) en dus konden we de rit naar Kniebis verderzetten.

Na een mooie wandeling in Kniebis met steeds meer opklaringen volgde nog een leuk en zonovergoten stadsbezoek aan Freudenstadt om de dag af te sluiten met een lekkere specialiteit van de streek als avondmaal.

Een dagje later, op vrijdagavond 1 augustus, volgde dan op spoorgebied goed nieuws. De onderbreking in het station van Triberg was net iets sneller opgelost dan gepland en dus zouden de treinen vanaf zaterdag 2 augustus weer over de volledige Schwarzwaldbahn kunnen rijden.

Dat opende toch wat perspectieven voor zaterdagavond. Nadat we eerder op de dag de "Schwarzwald Modellbahn" in Gutach bezocht hadden, stond ik die avond in Schwaibach dan naar de grote treinen te kijken vanop het wandel- en fietspad langs de Kinzig. En tot groot vermaak reed de RE2 4133 die dag met een loc voor- en achteraan (reclame voor respectievelijk Europapark in Rust en het Schwarzwald openluchtmuseum in Gutach (hier in eerste positie - zo is de reclame wat beter te zien)). Dit waren bovendien ook nog eens twee locs die ik een hele week niet gezien had aangezien ze door de onderbreking van de lijn een weekje pendelden tussen Konstanz en Sankt Georgen.

Well, the photo in Schenkenzell was in the digital box (fortunately just before a final rain shower peeped through) and so we could continue the journey to Kniebis.

After a lovely walk in Kniebis with increasingly clear skies, a pleasant and sunny visit to Freudenstadt followed, ending the day with a delicious regional specialty for dinner.

A day later, on Friday evening, August 1st, there was good news on the railway front. The disruption at Triberg station was resolved a little faster than planned, so trains would be able to run on the entire Schwarzwaldbahn again starting Saturday, August 2nd.

That opened up some prospects for Saturday evening. After visiting the "Schwarzwald Modellbahn" in Gutach earlier in the day, I was standing in Schwaibach that evening, watching the large trains from the hiking and cycling path along the Kinzig. The RE2 4133 was running that day with a locomotive at the front and rear (advertising for Europapark in Rust (front) and the Black Forest Open-Air Museum in Gutach (rear)). These were also two locomotives I hadn't seen for a whole week, as they were commuting between Konstanz and Sankt Georgen for a week due to the line closure.
